This random and incomplete document describes the current version of Map Editor. It's still being written so you'll find many gaps which will gradually be filled in.

The Map Editor has no name at present. Until it does, it's just called "Map Editor"!

What is it?

Map Editor is a Java application for viewing and editing maps of many kinds. Its main purpose is to display maps created by various custom mapping systems, but is capable of importing maps in many file formats and also of creating its own maps. It is also extendible via a plugin mechanism and by a built-in scripting language allowing you to customize it and add new features.
